Here are some of the most common questions we receive at GND Driving School. We aim to provide clear, helpful answers to make your learning experience as smooth as possible.

 

1. How old do I need to be to start driving lessons?

For an ACT learner driver licence, you must be at least 15 years and 9 months old and meet the ACT learner licence requirements. 

2. Do I need a learner licence before booking a lesson?

Yes. You must hold a valid ACT learner driver licence before your first driving lesson.

3. How much do driving lessons cost?

Our current prices are:

  • Introductory Driving Lesson – 1 Hour: $85
  • 5-Hour Driving Lesson Package: $399
  • 10-Hour Driving Lesson Package: $750
  • Driving Test Preparation – 1 Hour: $89
  • Driving Test Preparation – 2.5 Hours: $210

All prices are shown upfront at the time of booking.

4. How long are the driving lessons?

Individual lessons are available for 1 hour, with a 2.5-hour driving test preparation session also available. Multi-hour packages can be completed across multiple lessons.

5. Do you provide automatic or manual driving lessons?

We currently provide automatic driving lessons only.

6. Can I be picked up and dropped off for my lesson?

Pickup and drop-off may be available at a convenient location within our service area. Please confirm your preferred pickup and drop-off location when booking.

7. What do I need to bring to my first lesson?

Please bring your valid learner driver licence and wear comfortable, enclosed footwear suitable for driving.

8. I'm nervous about learning to drive. Is that okay?

Absolutely. Learning to drive can take time. We provide patient and supportive instruction to help you develop your driving skills and confidence at your own pace.

9. How many driving hours do I need before getting my Ps?

If you were under 25 when your ACT learner licence was issued, you need at least 100 supervised driving hours, including 10 hours at night.

If you were 25 or older when your ACT learner licence was issued, you need at least 50 supervised driving hours, including 5 hours at night. 

10. Can driving lessons help me prepare for my driving test?

Yes. Our driving test preparation lessons focus on practical driving skills, safe driving techniques and areas that may need improvement before your test.
